Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)

  • Works as steel fabrication welders, pipefitters and other specialized welding jobs;

  • Intensive actual/hands-on training with lectures in welding carbon flat steel (NC I) and steel pipes (NC II);

  • Teaches basic, common, and core competencies of welding e. g. theory, preparation, set-up, safety practices, and actual welding positions/procedures;

  • Class size: Special (one-to-one); Group class (at least 5 students);

  • Schedule of Classes: Monday to Friday (from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p. m.;

  • Numbers of learning hours: Approximately three (3) weeks for NC I and three (3) weeks for NC II;

  • Full tuition or at least 50% of the tuition fee payable on enrollment including miscellaneous fees. School reserves the right to discontinue the training if tuition fee is not fully paid;

  • Scholarship (maximum of P14,500) available for OWWA members and dependents upon approval of application;
  • TESDA assessment fee to be paid by student;

  • All welding consumables and some PPE (welding rods, hand gloves, goggles) are free and provided by the school; and

  • Includes one (1) month optional on-the-job-training (OJT) in a steel fabrication company.
